The success of election in the last Diocesan Council has created an exciting moments of oportunity. It matters greatly that the Diocese of Durgapur's transition is a success. I am determined that the CNI Sunod will play its full part in helping the poeple of this diocese to achieve that end. We are greatful to the Moderator The most Rev.Z.J.Terom and the General Secretary Rev.Enos Das Prodhan for their vision and fith in the poeple of this diocese.

But it also matters that hte people of this diocese as been angrily divided over the happenings of the diocese now recognise that we al share a common agenda to move the diocese from the strating point to a peaceful, properous and mission oriented future. Even the scars left by the past differences can be turned into opportunities. Precisely because the CNI Synod did not agree on some earlier actions inthe Diocese, it now has muvh needed credibility with,and access to the people of this diocese that must agree to join in the new change system if peace is to prevail. Now is the time for us to draw on that capital.

I want to capture this moment, and encourage the partner churches to come together around the Diocese of Durgapur through the CNI Synod. No one can fail to have been moved by the people of the Diocese of Durgapur display of courage in bringing a new Bishop to the dioces. I am sure that the CNI Synod was proud of the assistance it was able to give in developing the missiological base for the election of the Bishop. Visit to our Priorities
